Brompton Square Apartments is a 214-unit community controlled entirely by Brompton Community Housing, who acquired the property at a HUD auction. Churches, neighborhood organizations and TIFSS have worked to provide its residents with opportunities to lead more productive lives. It has an enormous 2,200 square-foot community center where The Good Neighbor Program has designed a customized program of supportive services ("resident enrichment programs") available at no charge to the residents. The City of Houston loaned CDBG funds to Brompton CHDO, since repaid in full, for the acquisition of the property. The property has no LIHTC funding and is tax exempt.

Buckhorn Crossing is a 240-unit apartment community controlled 100% by Brompton Community Housing, providing the highest quality subsidized rental housing in the area. Brompton did not earn a developer fee since the property was in jeopardy of foreclosure prior to Brompton's acquisition. Rents have been restricted and Brompton has received financing and other assistance from Texas Inter-Faith Housing Corporation and The Department of Housing and Urban Development. Throughout its history, Brompton has continuously complied with Section 11.182 of the State Tax Code.  In the most recent full year, 2009, rent reductions were in excess of $284,000 compared to market rates, as adjusted for unit size and area concessions. More than $67,000 was spent on capital improvement projects in that year alone. In addition, $34,000 was spent on community supportive services for the residents of Buckhorn Crossing. The housing and the services programs provided by Brompton Community Housing are currently in jeopardy due to Bexar Appraisal District actions. The property has no LIHTC funding and should continue to be tax exempt*.
